So session #1 got off to a slow start. Not a big deal. The current players and their character classes are as follows.
Dione M. : Halfling Druid
Justin T. : Catfolk Monk
Pat O. : Half-orc Paladin
PJ. : Human Warmage
Dan K. : Dwarf Paladin
Aaron W. : Halfling Rogue
The first encounter the party ran into was a dead Titan on top of the mountain in which the WLD is contained. The Dwarf spent what seemed like an eternity trying to figure out what loot he might be able to take from the enormous corpse. Once the Dwarf was convinced that leaving the dead Titan alone was the best thing to do the party moved on into the dungeon. Once inside the party made short work of exploring the first room and the Dwarf and Half-orc moved onto the second room. Once in the second room the Dwarf decided it best to try to pick a fight with the 3 exhausted Orcs in the room which, needless to say, didn't sit to well with the Half-orc Paladin as the Orcs were looking to avoid confrontation and their weapons were a safe 10 foot distance away from them. After the party finally convinced the Dwarf that starting a fight based on a racial grudge wasn't a good idea they moved on to find various smelly, diseased, and corpse/mold filled rooms. The partys first actual encounter with a hostile monster was with a fiendish dark mantle which attached itself firmly to the dwarfs noggin and was then swiftly removed by the half-orcs long sword. Shortly after the "head squid" encounter the party happened upon a large swarm of rats which crawled up the Half-orcs legs and provided much entertainment for the Catfolk. Once the rat encounter was over the party decided that the day had been too full of traps and flying octopi to go on anymore so they took a rest and that's where we ended the session.
